Aaron-Christoph Frehlich, M. Sc.
Analyst
Aaron-Christoph Frehlich is analyst and has been with r2b energy consulting since 2024.
His areas of expertise include quantitative analysis of transformation pathways in the energy system, with a focus on the expansion and integration of renewable energies, regulatory frameworks and their implications for different consumption and technology constellations. Aaron-Christoph specialises in topics relating to the development of generation, demand and flexibility options, the assessment of technology- and market-specific framework conditions, and the evaluation of price components and regulatory mechanisms.
Prior to joining r2b energy consulting, Aaron-Christoph worked as a working student at our subsidiary solarea GmbH since 2023, where he gained extensive experience in the analysis and modelling of spatial data. His main focus was on the development and optimization of GIS models as well as the expansion and management of spatial databases on a national and European level.
During his geography studies, Aaron-Christoph expanded his expertise in various fields, including ecosystem and climate research. In his master’s thesis, he combined his academic knowledge and professional experience by investigating transformation processes in the Rhine mining area – from the coal industry to an innovative, climate-neutral energy supply. As part of his master’s thesis, Aaron-Christoph modelled wind energy potential areas, considering possible planning and legal adjustments. He evaluated the potential areas using various scenarios and considered economic, ecological and socio-economic factors to develop an economic and sustainable expansion strategy.
