Severin Rüther is spatial analysis expert and has been working at r2b energy consulting since 2020. 

He is responsible for the development and application of our GIS-based models, including for renewable energy site potential analyses. As a specialist in databases and data management, Severin has set up our databases on renewable energy sources and topographical and climatic information throughout Europe and is responsible for their maintenance and further development. 

In addition, he was involved in the founding and development of our subsidiary solarea GmbH, which specializes in identifying, securing, and developing sites for renewable energy sources as well as advising municipalities, authorities, and companies. Since 2022, Severin has been working there as head of business development. 

Prior to that, he worked as a working student for r2b energy consulting since 2016, focusing on regional planning, potential area analyses, and spatial economic factors. As part of his geography studies at the University of Bonn, Severin specialized in geoinformatics and the management and analysis of large amounts of data, particularly in the field of economic and financial geography. In addition, he gained valuable practical experience as an intern at realxdata GmbH in Berlin and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development in the North Africa and Mediterranean Policy Division in Bonn.
